These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding legal agreement between you ("you", "member", "user") and Navyug — JNV Andaman Alumni Association ("Navyug", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your access to and use of the Navyug website, mobile application, and all related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you accept these Terms in full.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be a genuine former student (alumnus / alumna) of a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) and able to provide your school and batch details truthfully.
- Your account becomes active only after approval by a Navyug batch coordinator, moderator, or super-admin.
- We may reject, suspend, or terminate any registration that we believe is fraudulent, duplicate, or in breach of these Terms.
2. Account & security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at navyug.andaman@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not liable for any loss arising from your failure to safeguard your password.
3. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Post or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing, or that infringes the rights of any person.
- Impersonate any other person, alumnus, or institution.
- Use the Platform to spam, solicit, advertise, or market goods/services without our prior written consent.
- Upload viruses, malware, or any code designed to harm the Platform.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the normal working of the Platform.
- Use the Platform for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose, including money laundering.
We may remove any content or suspend any account that we, in our sole discretion, believe violates these rules.
4. Membership & donations
- Membership fees and donations are processed through Razorpay; you also agree to Razorpay's terms during checkout.
- All amounts are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable taxes, unless stated otherwise.
- Donations are voluntary contributions to the Navyug corpus or to a specific fundraiser; they are generally non-refundable. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for the limited exceptions.
- Tax-exemption (such as Section 80G) is offered only if and to the extent Navyug holds the applicable registration. The current status is published on the Platform.
5. User-generated content
You retain ownership of the posts, comments, photos, and messages you upload, but you grant Navyug a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and moderate that content for the purpose of operating the Platform. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to the content you submit.
6. Intellectual property
The Navyug name, logo, design, source code, and all original content on the Platform are owned by Navyug or its licensors and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without our prior written permission.
7. Third-party services
The Platform integrates third-party services such as Razorpay for payments, Google for sign-in / mail delivery, and may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those third parties. Your interaction with them is governed by their respective terms.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Navyug disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Navyug, its volunteers, office bearers, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount of fees, if any, you paid to Navyug in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Navyug and its representatives from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Platform.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. You may close your account at any time by writing to navyug.andaman@gmail.com. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, liability, indemnity, governing law) will continue in effect.
12. Changes to the Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer-protection statutes, all disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
