Child Safety Standards — CSAE Policy

Effective date: 29 May 2026 · Last updated: 29 May 2026

Navyug — JNV Andaman Alumni Association ("Navyug", "we", "us") operates the Navyug website and mobile application (the "Navyug Community") as a closed community for verified alumni of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page publishes our standards in compliance with the Google Play Families & Social-app policy requirements and applicable Indian law — principally the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 ("POCSO Act") and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

1. Our commitment

  • Child sexual abuse material ("CSAM") and any content that sexualises, exploits, endangers, or grooms a minor is strictly prohibited on the Platform.
  • We prohibit the use of the Platform to solicit, lure, traffic, blackmail, sextort, or otherwise harm a child in any way.
  • We prohibit the sharing of personal contact information of minors for sexual purposes.
  • We will remove violating content as soon as we become aware of it, terminate the offending account, preserve evidence, and report the matter to the appropriate law-enforcement authorities.

2. Who can use Navyug

  • The Platform is intended only for adult alumni (18 years and older) of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.
  • Every account is manually approved by a Navyug batch coordinator, moderator, or super-admin who verifies the registrant's JNV and batch before granting access. Accounts that cannot be verified are rejected.
  • Accounts found to belong to minors are immediately disabled.

3. Prohibited conduct

You must not, on or through the Platform:

  • Create, upload, store, share, or link to CSAM in any form (images, videos, drawings, animations, generative-AI content, written narratives).
  • Sexually solicit, groom, or attempt to engage in any sexual conversation with a minor.
  • Coerce or attempt to coerce a minor into producing sexual content ("sextortion").
  • Share identifying information about a minor (name, school, photograph, address, phone) in any sexual, exploitative, or otherwise harmful context.
  • Promote, advertise, or facilitate trafficking, prostitution, or commercial sexual exploitation of children.
  • Glamourise, defend, normalise, or trivialise child sexual abuse.

4. How we prevent CSAE

  • Closed community by design. Only verified adult alumni can register; the Platform is not open to the general public, and accounts are gated behind email-OTP verification followed by manual approval by a batch coordinator.
  • Profile validation. Registration requires JNV, batch year, and date of birth so that under-age sign-ups can be detected and rejected.
  • Moderation. Posts, comments, fundraisers, and event content are monitored by a moderator team that can remove material and suspend accounts.
  • Reporting tools. Members can report posts, comments, profiles, and messages directly within the app, or by email (see §6).
  • Logging & evidence preservation. Account metadata, content snapshots, and access logs relevant to a report are preserved for at least 180 days, or longer where legally required, to assist investigations.
  • Member education. Our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy make it clear that CSAE content and conduct are grounds for immediate, permanent termination.

5. Enforcement & cooperation with law enforcement

  • On confirming a violation, we permanently terminate the offending account and any linked accounts.
  • We remove and prevent re-upload of the violating content to the extent technically feasible.
  • We preserve all available evidence (account data, IP addresses, timestamps, content copies).
  • We report verified CSAM and credible threats against minors to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org), as appropriate.
  • We respond promptly to lawful requests from Indian law-enforcement and judicial authorities under the POCSO Act, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and applicable mutual legal assistance treaties.

6. How to report a violation
